The paintings are the result of my progressive abandoning the pseudo realism of my early works, while consolidating my use of abstract expression. This leaving behind the representation of the visible world constitutes a recalibrating of my perception and intuition towards the capturing of elusive forms and colours, states of mind, and wanderings into the territories of the unconscious.
In my view, artistic expression must be expression of absolute freedom. The contradictions, grotesqueness and futility of the world constitute a limitless source of inspiration for their triggering emotions and impulses that activate the creative gesture.
Le seguenti tele sono il risultato del progressivo abbandono delle forme pseudo realiste dei miei inizi e dell’approdo, ormai consolidato, all’astrattismo. Considero questo abbandonare la rappresentazione del mondo visibile un ricalibrare la mia intuizione e percezione artistica verso il cogliere di stati d’animo, di forme e colori fugaci, e verso il girovagare nei territori della coscienza. A mio parere l’attivita’ artistica, nelle sua varie forme, deve essere espressione di libertà assoluta, estranea a condizionamenti di sorta. Tuttavia le contraddizioni, gli aspetti grotteschi e la futilità del mondo che ci circonda costituiscono per me una fonte inesauribile di ispirazione per il loro suscitare emozioni e stimoli che animano il gesto creativo.
